Background5-Chloro-2-methyl-4-isothiazolin-3-one
is a member of the chemically related Isothiazolinone group of preservatives.
It is generally combined with 2-methyl-4-isothiazolin-3-one when used (MCI/MI)
(Kathon CG). The isothiazolinone preservatives include: 2-n-Octyl-4-isothiazolin-3-one,
1,2-Benzisothiazolin-3-one, 2-methyl-4-isothiazolin-3-one, and 5-Chloro-2-methyl-4-isothiazolin-3-one.
